About Us

The Art Workshop offers art classes covering all media and techniques 6 days a week to children ages 2 - 12, teens 13 - 18, home-schooled children, families, and adults of all ability levels. The Art Workshop is located at the Funke Fired Arts building in Hyde Park. Funke Fired Arts is a prestigious art organization located behind Hyde Park Plaza (Kroger) at 3130 Wasson Road. The facility houses a retail store for pottery and ceramic supplies, a gift shop with all hand-made pottery, a Paint-a-Pot business (complete with a fish pond), over 50 wheels for teaching pottery and now The Art Workshop!  It is one of the largest public studios in the country. We are excited to be associated with this awesome place. Founded by Nancy Kopp in the basement of her home in Wyoming, the company quickly grew to over 50 students per week. A larger venue was definitly needed! The Wyoming Fine Arts Center was just being opened at the time and the lower level became the new home for The Art Workshop for the next 15 years. While there, The Art Workshop expanded to include home-schooled students, and added more options for adult classes. In our new space, we hope to include more options for working parents to add art to their children's lives. And also provide class options for working people who want to get back in touch with their creative side.  Our new classroom is located behind the building.  You enter through the bright green door off of the deck.  See you there.
